PUC Formally Opens Investigation Of Retail Supplier
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The PUC of Ohio opened a case to, "investigate alleged failures to comply with certification standards and unfair, deceptive, or
unconscionable acts or practices in this state by SunSea Energy OH, LLC."
Citing allegations alleged by PUCO Staff in two notices of probable non-compliance developed by Staff, PUCO said, "The July 1, 2025 letter filed by Staff alleges a disregard for Commission rules
and a pattern of unfair, deceptive, or unconscionable acts or practices by SunSea. Therefore,
the Commission finds that a hearing should be held at which SunSea shall, among other
things, have the opportunity to respond to the findings contained in the Staff Report and
show cause why its certification as a CRES provider and its certification as a CRNGS
supplier should not be suspended, rescinded, or conditionally rescinded."
PUCO further said, "to the extent that SunSea has committed to suspend its marketing
and enrollment activities in Ohio pending the outcome of the Commission’s investigation,
it should continue to do so."
Details on the allegations from PUCO Staff are covered in our prior story here
