Two Municipal Aggregations Said To Be Returning Customers To Default Service
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Good Energy, as CCA administrator, filed with the New York PSC on April 2nd letters stating that the opt-out municipal aggregations for the Town of Penfield and Town of Union will both expire in June, and that customers will be returned to default service.
Good Energy in the April 2nd letters did not specify the commodity for the CCAs; it is understood that Union has offered both electric and gas CCAs
In December 2025, Good Energy had stated in a PSC filing concerning the Town of Union that Good Energy, "will be soliciting electricity supply contracts in
advance of the expiration of their current programs, which end in June 2026 for Union."
Union's gas CCA also had a published end date of June 2026 for current pricing
Good Energy in December 2025 had also informed the PSC that a Penfield CCA (no commodity listed) was expiring in December 2025, and that customers were being dropped to utility supply at such time (based on prior pricing announcements, it is understood that Penfield's December-expiring CCA was electric)
