Fast-Growing Company Offering Subscription Model For Home Solar Registers As Texas Electric Broker
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Terra Solar U.S [sic] d/b/a Terra Energy registered as a Texas retail electric broker
Terra Solar offers home solar installation under a subscription model, which offers home solar at no upfront costs and only a 36-month contract
Terra retains ownership and provides full coverage for the solar system (damage, theft, malfunctions). If anything happens, Terra handles repairs or replacements at no additional cost, the company states on its website
Terra's website states, "Each month, you’ll receive a Terra bill for the solar power your system produces, replacing part of your utility bill. You may still have a small utility bill for grid fees or extra usage."
Terra's website states, "you’ll receive two separate bills -- one from Terra Energy for your solar subscription and one from your utility provider for minimal grid connection fees or any additional electricity you may use. However, your total energy cost (solar + utility) is designed to be lower than what you were paying before going solar. Our goal is to reduce your overall monthly energy expenses while helping you transition to clean, renewable energy."
Terra's website states, "Your Terra Energy subscription rate is designed to remain stable and predictable. While traditional utility rates can fluctuate and often rise steeply year over year, our solar plans include a modest escalator of just 1.9% annually -- significantly lower than the average utility rate increases, which can range from 3% to 7% or more. This built-in price stability helps protect you from unpredictable energy hikes and provides greater long-term savings and peace of mind."
Terra's website states, "Terra Energy operates on a solar-as-a-service subscription model. Rather than selling solar panels outright, we provide clean, reliable solar energy to customers for a fixed monthly rate. This allows homeowners to enjoy the benefits of solar without the high upfront cost of purchasing equipment. We’re able to keep our prices low and our service top-tier by leveraging tax incentives, purchasing equipment in bulk, and streamlining operations. These efficiencies help us deliver affordable energy to our customers while maintaining long-term profitability."
Terra Energy recently closed a series of fundings at $105 million, including a $35 million Green Loan from Breakwall Capital LP to accelerate the expansion of its residential solar subscription platform.
Terra has said that it is Florida’s largest residential solar provider, and recently expanded into Texas
