A market participant in PJM and ISO-NE is evaluating a sale of 100% of the equity in its retail electricity supplier entities.
The market participant stated, "For a buyer seeking an accelerated path to entry or expansion in PJM and ISO-NE, the business offers a substantially built retail supply platform with pricing, enrollment, billing, fulfillment, broker, and CRM/CIS functionality already in place, utility onboarding completed in core territories, and market and regulatory collateral posted under an executed energy supply agreement."
The market participant's retail electricity supplier entities hold retail supply licenses in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, with a Massachusetts application pending before the Department of Public Utilities.
"While the company currently serves no active customer load, its existing operational and regulatory foundation may provide a buyer with a more efficient path to relaunch than a ground-up build," the market participant stated.
"Although our primary objective is a sale of 100% of the equity, we would also be open to discussions with strategic parties interested in recapitalizing and relaunching the platform," the market participant stated.
