Thousands Of Pennsylvania Customers To Newly Gain Access To Retail Choice, As PUC Approves Utility Acquisition

The Pennsylvania PUC approved the application of National Fuel Gas Distribution
Corporation to acquire North East Heat & Light Company (NEHL)
North East Heat & Light Company provides natural gas service to approximately 2,900 customers in North
East Township and the Borough of North East in Erie County, Pennsylvania. Of the
2,900 customers, there are approximately 2,600 residential customer meters, 200
commercial/public building meters, 70 large commercial meters, two industrial customer
meters, and six large industrial customer meters.
As a small utility, North East Heat & Light Company is not required to offer a small customer retail choice program, and does not offer a small customer retail choice program. North East Heat & Light Company does offer a transportation program for large customers
Under the acquisition approved by the Pennsylvania PUC, choice will be implemented in a staggered manner
Customers of NEHL at the time of the transaction close will remain on their current NEHL tariffs until a rate case merges the tariffs. National Fuel Gas Distribution recently filed a rate case at the PUC. Once the two utility systems are integrated, small customer retail choice will be expanded to the former NEHL customers
For new service customers in the territory formerly served by NEHL, or for customer transfers (new customers at existing locations), such customers will be served under National Fuel Gas Distribution's existing tariffs
At transaction close, all customers under the NEHL transportation program will be served under National Fuel Gas Distribution's transportation tariffs, including applicable rules and fees
