Duke Energy Ohio Residential, Small Commercial Prices To Compare Increasing 6-7%

Duke Energy Ohio has updated its electric Standard Service Offer retail energy (RE) and retail capacity (RC) riders for the period June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027
Duke's electric Price to Compare includes Riders RE and RC, as well as AER (alternative energy compliance) and SCR (SSO auction supplier cost reconciliation).
The updated Riders RE and RC include summer and winter rates for the June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 period. Additionally, most classes (including residential for the winter period) have declining block rates. The Price to Compare used by PUCO addresses the first block (1,000 kWh for residential customers). The summer residential RE and RC rates have block rates, but the rate is identical for each block
The residential RS (non-PIPP) electric PTC at Duke Energy Ohio will be $0.107016 per kWh effective June 1, 2026, up 6% from the current $0.100819 per kWh (note that the PUCO-listed PTC rounds to the fourth decimal when expressed as $ per kWh).
The PTCs listed here for both periods use the current amount for bypassable Riders AER and SCR, with such current amounts typically fixed through June 30, 2026. Riders AER and SCR are typically next updated on July 1, 2026. Thus, the PTC may change slightly during the summer period versus the June 1, 2026 PTC
The summer period for RE and RC lasts through Sept. 30, 2026.
For Rate DM, Secondary Distribution Service, Small, for the first block of usage (First 2800 kWh), the sum of Riders RE, RC, AER and SCR on June 1, 2026 will be $0.113583 per kWh, up 7% from the current $0.105918 per kWh
