Pepco-MD Residential, Small Commercial SOS Rates Increasing 11-13% In October

Pepco in Maryland has filed new residential and Type I SOS electric rates for the period October 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027, updates to the bypassable SOS Admin. Charge which change the previously set June 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026 SOS mass market rates, and new Type II SOS rates for the period June 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026
Notably, the SOS Admin. Charges are decreasing on June 1, 2026 for residential and Type I customers
Specifically, the total SOS Administrative Charges for Residential, Type I, Type II,
and Hourly Service will change effective with June 2026 bills from 5.00 mills per kWh, 4.93
mills per kWh, 1.57 mills per kWh, and 1.28 mills per kWh, to be 4.04 mills per kWh, 3.62 mills
per kWh, 2.29 mills per kWh and 2.46 mills per kWh, respectively
For standard Schedule R residential customers, the Pepco Maryland Generation Service Charge SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge, including Admin. charge, will be $0.12670 per kWh for the period October 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027, or 13% higher than the revised charge of $0.11168 per kWh for the period June 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026
The SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge does not include bypassable transmission or the bypassable PCA (reconciliation)
For Schedule GS Type I customers, the Pepco Maryland Generation Service Charge SOS Kilowatt-hour Charge, including Admin. charge, will be $0.12285 per kWh for the period October 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027, or 11% higher than the revised charge of $0.11037 per kWh for the period June 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026
