Octopus Launches Texas Plan Bundling Retail Electricity With Home Battery System

Octopus Energy and Lunar Energy said that they are rolling out in Texas a residential electricity plan that will pair fixed energy pricing with Lunar Energy’s home battery that manages when power is stored, used, and shared.
The partnership will bring these systems to a, "limited number of homes across Texas," the companies said
Octopus said that, "With a zero upfront cost, the energy rate will start at 8¢/kWh for three years with a $45 monthly subscription for the battery."
Customers will have the option to own the battery at the end of the battery service agreement.
Customers will receive a 30 kWh Lunar Battery, installed and configured for the home, designed to keep essential power running and to respond automatically when conditions on the grid start to shift.
"This is the first phase of a plan that could support a broader rollout of Octopus Energy’s battery-enabled electricity plans across Texas," Octopus said
