New Alternative Electric Supplier Receives Michigan License
The Michigan PSC granted MCV Retail Company LLC an alternative electric supplier license. MCV Retail
is an affiliate of Midland Cogeneration Venture Limited Partnership (MCV LP), an independent power producer and a subsidiary of Capital Power
Corporation. MCV Retail Company has stated that MCV Retail Company does not plan to serve Retail Open Access customers, but that MCV Retail Company, "will serve to facilitate self-service power transactions between
MCV LP and persons obtaining self-service power under MCL 460.10a (4)." Given that MCV Retail will not serve Retail Open Access [ROA] customers, the PSC granted MCV Retail's request to waive the requirement for a
bond or letter of credit which is required from retail suppliers, subject to the condition that, should MCV Retail seek to serve ROA customers in the future,
MCV Retail will be required to provide a $100,000 bond or letter of credit prior to serving ROA customers. MCV LP has a contract to supply
Dow, Corteva Agriscience and the Michigan Dow IPark with electricity until 2035, which MCV Retail Company will facilitate
Fanfare Energy Seeks To Use Trade Name
Fanfare Energy, LLC d/b/a Energywell filed at the Illinois Commerce Commission to use the trade name Energywell in Fanfare Energy's retail electric supplier business, with Fanfare seeking to use the trade name in serving all customer classes at ComEd and Ameren. Fanfare Energy currently has an Illinois ARES license to serve all customer classes at ComEd and Ameren, but does not have authority to do so using the trade name Energywell.
EnergyNation Solutions Receives Pennsylvania Electric License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted EnergyNation Solutions LLC an electric broker/marketer license to serve all customer classes in all service areas. EnergyNation Solutions, LLC is owned by W. Keith Maxwell III
OnSite Partners Receives D.C. Licenses
The District of Columbia PSC granted OnSite Partners, LLC electric and natural gas broker licenses to serve commercial and industrial customers
Enel X North America Files To Relinquish D.C. Gas Broker License
Enel X North America, Inc. filed at the District of Columbia PSC to voluntarily surrender its District of Columbia natural gas broker license.
