Washington Gas Light Receives Extension To File Maryland POR Discount Update
Washington Gas Light asked the Maryland PSC for an extension of time to file its annual POR discount rate update. The annual update is typically filed by April 30. WGL said that for the past several days, the system used to extract
data needed to calculate the annual updated POR discount rate has not been functioning following
a routine system upgrade. WGL asked for an extension until May 8, 2026 to file the annual POR update. The Maryland PSC granted WGL's request, setting a May 8 deadline for the POR filing
Duquesne Light Files Preliminary Update To Bypassable Transmission Rate (TSC)
Duquesne Light Company filed with the Pennsylvania PUC its, "best estimate of the transmission revenue requirement and rates for the period of June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027," to be reflected in the Price to Compare. However, Duquesne Light said that the bypassable transmission service charge (TSC) rates included in its April 30 filing are preliminary, and thus the new TSCs may change by the June 1 start of the new PTC. Duquesne Light said that final proposed TSC rates will be filed on or about May 15, 2026, to become effective on June 1, 2026. Based on the preliminary rates, the residential RS TSC would increase to $0.031676 per kWh on June 1, 2026, from the current $0.027187 per kWh, but the final TSC may differ. The GS TSC would fall to $0.011953 per kWh from the current $0.018386 per kWh. The preliminary TSCs may be found on page 20 of Duquesne's filing.
