Gridwealth Electric Announces Partnership To Combine Retail Electricity Supply, Embedded Financing, & Distributed Energy Infrastructure, In "Next-Generation" Retail Offer Across U.S., Accelerate Deployment Of BTM Solar, Storage
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Gridwealth Electric and Perl Street announced a
partnership to deliver integrated behind-the-meter (BTM) distributed energy resources (DER) to
commercial and industrial customers across the United States.
"The partnership combines Gridwealth Electric’s retail energy platform and broker relationships
with Perl Street’s embedded project finance, development, and technology platform to create a
scalable 'Retail 2.0' model that integrates electricity supply with solar, battery storage, and
energy efficiency infrastructure," the companies said
"Customers will gain access to zero-upfront-cost distributed energy solutions designed to
significantly reduce electricity costs and provide long-term energy price stability. The combined
platform will support the development, financing, and management of behind-the-meter battery
energy storage systems (BESS), solar assets, EV infrastructure, and energy efficiency projects," the companies said
The companies will focus first on commercial battery storage in competitive power markets,
then expand into broader distributed energy and virtual power plant opportunities.
Gridwealth Electric currently serves more than 2,000 commercial and industrial customers and
works with energy brokers across New England, "giving the partnership a direct path to DER
origination at scale," the companies said
"This partnership enables Gridwealth Electric to evolve
beyond commodity supply and offer customers a fully integrated energy platform that combines
retail electricity with financed energy infrastructure," said Tooraj
Arvajeh, Co-Founder of Perl Street
Perl Street’s platform combines capital access, underwriting, and financial operations. The
company has managed financial data for $3.2 billion in DER assets and provided structured
financing to more than 60 customers for solar, battery, EV charging, and demand response
systems. Perl Street has financed hundreds of DER assets, including hundreds of battery systems
deployed for some of the country’s largest virtual power plants, the companies said
"Retail electricity and distributed energy are converging, and this partnership puts Gridwealth
Electric ahead of that shift," said Todd Ford, CEO of Gridwealth Electric. "Bringing batteries and
other DER to our customer base lowers costs, manages increasingly high demand changes,
and opens new revenue lines for our broker partners."
