Pennsylvania Utility Agrees To Inform Customers That Default Supply Is Provided At No Markup

As part of a settlement in its gas cost rate (GCR) proceeding, Philadelphia Gas Works has agreed to provide customers with additional educational materials and information concerning PGW's supply rate and default service process

Notably, the information presented to customers shall inform customers that, "PGW passes the GCR to ratepayers at no markup".

Such acknowledgment shall be included in additional customer-facing educational information to be posted to PGW's existing website, with the information explaining the process for natural gas procurement

The information on the GCR process shall be written in plain language

PGW is to publish this information on its website by January 1, 2027

The settlement was between PGW and the Office of Consumer Advocate. The other active parties in the case (including OSBA and PUC I&E Staff) do not oppose the settlement
