Nstar East Residential, Small C&I Default Service Rates Increasing 11%

Nstar (Eversource) in Massachusetts has filed new basic service electricity rates for its Eastern Massachusetts service area for the periods beginning August 1, 2026
All prices below include the currently effective Basic Service Adders, Renewable Portfolio Standard, Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard, Clean Energy Standard, and Clean Peak Standard Adders. Nstar's Basic Service Cost Adjustment is typically filed in the fall, to change the Basic Service Cost Adjustment effective on or about February 1 of each year (though the effective date may be later based on when a DPU order is issued)
The filed new Nstar East fixed residential basic service rate for the period August 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027, using currently effective adders, is 17.323¢/kWh, or nearly 11% higher than the current rate of 15.629¢/kWh
The filed new Nstar East fixed small C&I basic service rate for the period August 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027, using currently effective adders, is 16.761¢/kWh, or 11% higher than the current rate of 15.030¢/kWh
