Commonwealth Edison in Illinois has filed final updates to the Purchased Electricity Charges (PECs) and PJM Services Charges (Transmission Services Charge) for electricity default service customers for the period starting June 1, 2026

The final PECs filed by ComEd with the Illinois Commerce Commission reflect the results of the spring default service procurement, and now also reflect the results of the May 8 PJM Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) Auctions.

The PECs reflect the cost of energy and capacity. The full Price to Compare includes the PEC plus ComEd's PJM Services Charge (PSC), which reflects the cost of transmission.

ComEd has also filed updated PSCs versus an April indicative filing

Generally, the final PECs are slightly lower than the indicative PECs filed last month

Based on ComEd's new May 15 filing, the price to compare for residential customers is to increase about 8% to 10.399 cents per kWh on June 1, from the current PTC of 9.660 cents per kWh

Based on ComEd's new May 15 filing, the Watt-hour Non-Electric Space Heating price to compare is to increase about 8% to 10.405 cents per kWh on June 1, from the current PTC of 9.675 cents per kWh

Full details on ComEd's new PECs and PSCs can be found in ComEd's filing here

ComEd also filed indicative non-summer PECs for the period October 2026 to May 2027, but as additional supplies for this period may be procured in a fall procurement, the rates are subject to change and are not posted here
