PECO Bypassable Transmission Rate Increasing; New Rates Also Filed By BGE, Duquesne Light

Several electric utilities have filed annual updates to their bypassable transmission rates which make up part of the default service price
At PECO in Pennsylvania, for rate R residential customers, the bypassable Transmission Service Charge (TSC) will increase to $0.00974 per kWh effective June 1, 2026, or 24% higher than the current rate of $0.00787 per kWh
At PECO, for small C&I customers, the bypassable Transmission Service Charge (TSC) will increase to $2.20 per billed transmission kW effective June 1, or 40% higher than the current rate of $1.57 per billed transmission kW. The TSC for small C&I customers under 100 kW is converted to a per kWh rate in the price to compare
Duquesne Light Company filed with the Pennsylvania PUC final bypassable Transmission Service Charges (TSC) to be effective June 1, 2026
At Duquesne Light, the residential RS TSC is to increase to $0.031841 on June 1, 2026, or 17% higher than the current rate of $0.027187 per kWh.
At Duquesne Light, the Rate GS TSC would fall to $0.012015 per kWh, which is 35% lower than the current TSC of $0.018386 per kWh.
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company in Maryland has filed updates to the bypassable retail transmission rates (Transmission Rate) to be effective June 1, 2026
At BGE, the Schedule R bypassable Transmission Rate, including GRT and PSC assessment, will decrease to 2.228 cents per kWh on June 1, from the current 2.322 cents per kWh
At BGE, for Scheds. G and GU Type I SOS customers, the bypassable Transmission Rate, including GRT and PSC assessment, will decrease to 1.762 cents per kWh on June 1, from the current 1.986 cents per kWh
