The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Ector County Generation, LLC, an approximately 324-MW simple-cycle gas-fired power generation facility located in ERCOT’s West Zone, formally disclosed that it was recently acquired by a subsidiary of Hanwha Energy

Hanwha Energy's acquisition of an unnamed ERCOT West Zone power generation facility, whose details aligned with the characteristics of the Ector County Generation facility, had been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com in March; however, at such time, Hanwha had not formally confirmed that the unnamed plant was the Ector County Generation, LLC facility

In March, Hanwha had said that the acquisition, among other strategic rationale, strengthens Hanwha’s broader U.S. energy platform, which includes Chariot Energy, a Texas-based retail electricity provider
