PSC Sets Process For Workgroup To Develop Green Button Connect-Compliant Data Exchange Platform
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The Maryland PSC formally established a new Data Exchange Work Group
(“DEWG”) for the implementation of a state-wide Green Button Connect (“GBC”) compliant data
exchange platform.
"This GBC-compliant data exchange platform will be used to support third-party
access to a customer’s data, with the customer’s permission, for customer choice and virtual
power plant aggregations among other potential future use cases. The Commission also directed
the DEWG to scope the potential integration of a central, public-facing distributed energy resource
registry ('DER Registry') with this GBC-compliant data exchange platform," the PSC said
The PSC had ordered creation of such a work group in a recent order designed to accelerate the implementation of virtual power plants (VPPs), see prior story here
The PSC opened Public Conference 79 (PC 79, PC79) as the proceeding under which
it will conduct the DEWG-assigned activities
The DEWG shall file by
November 8, 2026 its initial reports previously ordered by the PSC
