PSC Approves New Purchase of Receivables (POR) Discount Rates At Several Utilities

The Maryland PSC has approved new non-residential purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates at Baltimore Gas & Electric, for natural gas only, and at Potomac Edison, effective June 1, 2026 at each utility

For natural gas service at BGE, the General Service - Schedule C POR discount will remain unchanged at 0%, as shown below

The PSC has not yet ruled on BGE's update to its electricity POR discount rates, which is to be addressed at a future PSC meeting (proposed electric POR updates here)

At Potomac Edison, there is no change in any of the current 0% POR discount rates currently applicable to each non-residential class, as shown below:

For all discounts in this story, the current and new 0% discounts reflect a zero-ing out of the negative discounts which result from the POR discount rate calculation, consistent with PSC precedent

No POR discount updates were made for residential service, as residential POR ended on Dec. 31, 2025, apart from cancels/rebills and similar revisions to prior receivables. The reconciliation of the final residential POR balances is subject to a previously reported process
