PUC Staff Removes One Service Area From Consideration Of Implementing Straw Proposals For Time Of Use Default Service Rates

The Maine PUC Staff have informed stakeholders that, at this time, Versant Power’s Maine Public District (formerly Maine Public Service) is being removed from consideration in connection with various straw proposals for implementing time of use default service rates

Staff also advised parties that, due to the complications of implementing time-differentiated Net Energy Billing (NEB) kWh credits, Staff is removing this feature from the TOU straw proposals at this time.
"Staff recognizes that time-differentiated kWh credits would likely reduce cross-subsidization; however, Staff believes that the issue of time-differentiated NEB credits would best be pursued in a separate proceeding dedicated to that purpose," Staff said
