Stay Extended In Proceeding Reviewing Time of Use Rates For Default Service

The presiding officers of a Maine PUC proceeding reviewing whether to adopt, on an opt-in or opt-out basis, time of use rates for electricity standard offer service have extended a current stay in the proceeding such that the stay is extended to September 14, 2026
The extended stay is to allow more time on settlement discussions that seek to develop consensus on certain items and/or an alternative approach to implementing and increasing customer adoption of time-varying rate designs to shape residential load, so that utilities do not need to undertake the time and expense of conducting cost/benefit analyses for every proposal offered thus far in the investigation
