New Retail Energy Broker Seeking To Provide Residential Resiliency Services In Pennsylvania Receives License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Patel Energy LLC, a start-up, an electric broker/marketer license to serve residential, small commercial, large commercial, and industrial customers in all service areas. Among other services, Patel Energy has said that, for residential customers, "Patel Energy will provide distributed energy systems with the intention of solving customers power resiliency needs during outages from weather disturbances or other factors. Patel Energy will provide this solution through a Resiliency Agreement, which may involve brokering the customers power supply." See more background here
Start-up Rate Raven Receives Pennsylvania License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Rate Raven Inc., a start-up, an electric broker/marketer license to serve all customer classes in all service areas. As previously reported by ECM, Rate Raven has previously indicated that it is launching as a concierge retail energy shopping service and that it will expand "soon" to New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Ohio, and Texas. "Rate Raven utilizes advanced AI tools to scan utility bills, compare real-time rates from official state sources (such as PAPowerSwitch), generate Letters of Authorization, facilitate customer switches, and provide continuous monthly monitoring and spike alerts," Rate Raven has previously said

Distributed Generation & Energy Consultant Receives Pennsylvania Broker Licenses
The Pennsylvania PUC granted New Horizons Energy Services LLC electric and natural gas broker/marketer licenses to serve large commercial (over 25 kW or over 6,000 Mcf annually), industrial, and governmental customers in all service areas. Pennsylvania-based New Horizons Energy Services is an existing energy consultant providing advisory concerning distributed generation, demand response, energy & tax audits, and other services.
