A telephone number listed for Jacob Adigwe in Mountain Top Energy LLC's Texas REP application is the same telephone number identified as associated with Jacob Adigwe, CEO of the entity SunSea Energy OH LLC, (as well as SunSea Energy OH LLC generally) in an Ohio retail supplier license application from SunSea Energy OH LLC
Additionally, while Energy Choice Matters does not base the following observation on any expert analysis, a cursory comparison of the signature of Jacob Adigwe, CEO of Mountain Top Energy LLC included in the Texas REP application, shows a similarity to the signature of Jacob Adigwe, CEO (or President) of Sunsea Energy that has been included with regulatory filing affidavits in multiple other states from Sunsea Energy
As previously reported, the entity SunSea Energy, LLC previously had its New York ESCO eligibility revoked by the New York PSC. In Maryland, the Maryland PSC in April 2023 "suspended" SunSea Energy, LLC's retail supplier license and prohibited new customer enrollments pending further review by the Maryland PSC. The Maryland PSC later allowed SunSea to maintain its supplier license and resume marketing under its license pending a payment of a civil penalty. SunSea has said in a prior license application in another state that the Maryland civil penalty was paid and that the Maryland moratorium on marketing to new customers has been lifted. The entity SunSea Energy OH LLC also had its ability to operate in the Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio, LLC gas choice program terminated for failure to maintain the minimum customer or volume threshold.
One of the contact emails listed in Mountain Top Energy LLC's REP application uses a progresivelightandpower.com domain name.
Mountain Top Energy LLC's REP application lists Jacob Adigwe's prior competitive energy experience as including serving as CEO of Bigtree Energy LLC (California retail gas market) and VA Light and Power LLC (Virginia retail gas market)
In Texas, Mountain Top Energy LLC sought authority to collect customer deposits and prepayments.
