The Ontario Energy Board has approved updated Regulated Price Plan (RPP) electric commodity rates for mass market customers, for the six month period beginning May 1.
The standard tiered residential RPP rates are (figures Canadian):
6.8 cents/kWh up to 600 kWh each month
7.9 cents/kWh above that
May 1 marks the seasonal change in the threshold for the higher rates for residential customers, from 1,000 kWh to 600 kWh. Non-residential RPP rates for small volume customers are the same as listed above, except that the threshold for the second tier is at 750 kWh, rather than 600 kWh.
Time of Use RPP rates are as follows:
On-peak: 10.7 cents/kWh
Mid-peak: 8.9 cents/kWh
Off-peak: 5.9 cents/kWh
Effective May 1, the off-peak period begins two hours earlier at 7 p.m. (versus 9 p.m.).
