Just Energy Revises Enrollment Process for Seniors in Ohio

Just Energy is no longer signing Ohio senior citizen customers to contracts at the door, Just Energy said in a quarterly compliance update to PUCO.
Just Energy reported that in January, it received four verified complaints from senior citizens. As a result, Just Energy has instituted a program for seniors older than 70.
In an effort to allow these customers more time to review the contract documentation, senior customers will not be signed up at the door.
Instead, the sales agent will give the customer all of the documentation and ask that the customer call the Just Energy toll free customer service number to enroll in the program. Just Energy said that these customers will be offered similar products but given more time to consider their decision to switch to Just Energy.
Just Energy also reported that it no longer allows sales agents to be at the customer's door during the third party verification process.
