BGE Files Updated Bypassable SOS Transmission Rates

Baltimore Gas & Electric has filed updated bypassable SOS transmission rates, to be effective June 1, 2011. The rates are available here

Direct Energy Closes Gateway Acquisition

Direct Energy has closed its previously reported acquisition of Gateway Energy Services Corporation for $91 million in cash (including $13 million of tax assets) plus working capital. Gateway has more than 280,000 gas and electricity customer accounts, located mainly in New York State, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Constellation Acquires Sacramento Solar Project

Constellation Energy as acquired a 30 MW DC (25 MW AC) solar generation project in Sacramento, Calif., from Belectric, Inc. Constellation Energy will own and operate the system and sell the electricity generated from it to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District under ten, 20-year power purchase agreements. The project is anticipated to be commercially operational by the end of 2011.
