IGS Energy Lists Duquesne Light Offer on PA Power Switch
Interstate Gas Supply has started listing its Duquesne Light residential fixed price offer on PA Power Switch. The offer was first reported in Matters (9/30), and was previously only listed on IGS Energy's website.
TXU Offers iPhone App Providing Info on Usage, Projected Billing
TXU Energy has launched a free iPhone app providing customers with advanced meters information on consumption and costs in each billing cycle and an estimate of their upcoming monthly bill, based on their actual usage. In addition the app allows users to pay bills, choose payment options, and compare the details of recent bills. TXU had previously launched an iPhone app in June allowing all customers, regardless of meter, to make payments and choose payment options.
Acclaim Energy Advisors Announces Promotions
Broker-consultant Acclaim Energy Advisors has promoted Trish Collins to Vice President, Commercial and Industrial Markets. Collins, a 20-year energy industry veteran, was most recently Director, Principal Consultant at Acclaim. Additionally, Richard Zdunkewicz, a 30-year veteran of the commercial banking and energy industries, was promoted from Director, Principal Consultant to Vice President, responsible for operations, including transaction pricing, information technology and client services. Zdunkewicz will also continue to provide energy advisory services to select clients, especially in the Private Equity, Retail and Real Estate segments.
Hampshire Council of Governments Registers as SREC Aggregator
The Hampshire Council of Governments has completed registration as a Massachusetts Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) aggregator. Working with privately and publicly funded solar projects in the region as an SREC aggregator, the Council said that the, "goal of the program is to retain the green energy dollars in Western Massachusetts and become the aggregator of choice for solar development installations throughout the region." The Council will reinvest the funds into new alternative energy projects and services throughout Western Massachusetts. The Council is also working with the communities of Hampshire and Franklin Counties to simplify the PV solar bidding process through the development of a regional Request for Proposals to select a solar vendor and installer for municipal solar projects. The Hampshire Council of Governments runs the Hampshire Power wholesale buying program for retail electric customers, and is seeking DPU approval for an opt-out electric aggregation program (see 7/6).
Tangent Energy Solutions Names Brad Swalwell Director of Market Development
Energy efficiency and distributed generation provider Tangent Energy Solutions, Inc. named Brad Swalwell as Director of Market Development. Swalwell will analyze solar and gas-fired generation projects to maximize the economic opportunities they present for Tangent and its customers, especially in the PJM, New York ISO, and ISO New England markets. He will also evaluate clean energy financial opportunities arising from Renewable Energy Certificates and net metering. Swalwell was previously Director of Corporate Accounts Comverge, Inc, where he evaluated, developed and implemented energy initiatives for demand response and energy efficiency programs.
