Residential electric migration at Niagara Mohawk dropped significantly from May 2011 to June 2011, according to new statistics posted by the New York PSC.

The PSC has posted electric migration data for May and June 2011, linked below. Previously, the most recent stats available were from April 2011.

Matters has also compiled a comparison of the April, May and June 2011 residential migration stats in terms of accounts.

From May to June 2011, NiMo saw a net decline in migrated residential accounts of nearly 5,000.

That compares to net growth of over 9,000 migrated residential accounts during May. However, NiMo had recorded a net loss of 2,000 migrated residential accounts in April.

Rochester Gas & Electric also posted a marginal net decline in migrated residential accounts (with a net loss of 32) during June.

While the remaining territories saw residential migration growth during June, the growth was marginal, and did not exceed 450. Data for Consolidated Edison did not appear to be available: the June PSC report listed identical migration totals at ConEd as the May report, which may be possible for one class, but seems extremely unlikely across all classes, including for both accounts and MWh.

In May, residential migration growth at ConEd was nearly 7,000 accounts, and was over 1,500 at NYSEG. Going back to the April data, monthly residential migration growth in April equaled or exceeded 1,500 accounts in all territories except NiMo, which as noted above saw a decrease in that month.

Residential migration as a percent of accounts for June 2011 was:

Central Hudson: 7.2%

Consolidated Edison: 19.6% (May 2011)

Niagara Mohawk: 18.4%

NYSEG: 23.1%

Orange & Rockland: 33.6%

Rochester Gas & Electric: 23.9%
