Retail supplier SCANA Energy reported a seasonal loss of $4.3 million for the quarter ending September 30, 2011, versus a loss of $2.8 million a year ago.
The decline was driven by lower margins partially offset by decreased operating expenses.
At September 30, 2011, SCANA Energy was serving approximately 450,000 customers, versus 460,000 as of June 30, 2011, and 445,000 a year ago.
SCANA Energy said that it maintains its position as the Georgia's second largest natural gas marketer.
Operating revenues for SCANA Energy in the quarter were $67.9 million, versus $64.2 million a year ago.
