Residential Migration Growth Drops Significantly at JCPL

Residential migration growth during the month of October declined significantly at Jersey Central Power & Light, but rebounded at Atlantic City Electric.

Most notably, the growth in residential migration at JCPL during the month of October 2011, versus the September 2011 total, was only 963 accounts, versus the monthly growth of 5,000 accounts seen in each of the months of September and August.

Public Service Electric & Gas saw yet another month with residential migration growth of 5,300 accounts, which is even with the growth witnessed in each of the last two months.

Residential migration growth at Atlantic City Electric rebounded in October 2011, with growth of 1,900 accounts. This followed the month of September where residential migration growth at ACE was only 330 accounts. Residential migration growth at ACE during August had been 1,700 accounts.

Monthly migration growth in the <500 kW commercial class continued to slow for the third straight month. Growth in this class at PSE&G and JCPL had been as high as 2,000 to 4,000 accounts per month in July, but was only 500 accounts at PSE&G, and 180 accounts at JCPL, during October.

As a percentage of total residential accounts, migration for the month of October 2011 was as follows:

Atlantic City Electric: 12.8%

Jersey Central Power & Light: 12.0%

Public Service Electric & Gas: 7.4%

Rockland Electric: 5.4%
