Champion Energy Services is now serving 1,000,000 residential customer equivalents, the company disclosed in a news release today concerning a new website for Texas small businesses.
The most immediately prior RCE disclosure from privately held Champion Energy had been a total of about 725,000 RCEs, disclosed in a September 8 news release.
Scott Fordham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Champion Energy Services, said that the growth represents organic growth across all of Champion's individual markets.
In particular, Fordham said that Champion has seen growth in its residential markets of Texas, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Jersey, as well as commercial growth in these markets as well as Ohio.
Fordham also said that Champion's anticipated entry into the Maryland residential market will occur in the first quarter of 2012.
Champion Energy Services' peak load remains "near 2,200 megawatts."
Champion Energy announced today the launch of a new website, PoweringYourBusiness.com, offering online enrollment for commercial customers in Texas that have annual usage under 100,000 kWh.
"There are more than one million Texas businesses that spend under $2,000 a month for electricity, and Champion Energy is excited to target this vital market sector that, until now, has been underserved by suppliers," said Fordham.
"Unlike other retail electricity providers that follow the same process to price both small and large usage contracts, Champion Energy has greatly simplified the process via PoweringYourBusiness.com, allowing a complete self- enrollment process that smaller commercial customers can complete in a short amount of time," Fordham said.
