Reliant has begun offering residential electric service in Massachusetts.

Currently, residential service is offered at Commonwealth Electric and Boston Edison (both Nstar). Reliant said that EDI testing is underway for the remaining service areas.

Similar to its residential expansion in other Northeast markets, Massachusetts residential enrollment is initially only available by phone (in other Northeast states, telephonic enrollment was rolled out first, followed by internet enrollment). While the Reliant website does inform customers of Massachusetts residential service, it directs them to call Reliant's customer service center for rates and to enroll.

Reliant would not disclose specific Massachusetts rates. In its other Northeast markets, Reliant has typically launched with a 12-month fixed rate.

Non-residential service from Reliant is also available in the same Massachusetts service areas.

Reliant also recently launched residential electric service at Delmarva Power in Delaware, offering a 12-month fixed rate of 9.49 cents per kWh. The product includes a $150 early termination fee.
