Matters has also compiled a comparison of the migration levels from the 12/7/11 Report to the 12/14/11 Report.

At PECO, it's the first weekly decline in residential migration since the PUC began publishing weekly migration stats in March.

From December 7 to December 13, PECO saw a net of 150 residential customers leave competitive supply. This contrasts to week-ago growth in residential migration of 700 accounts.

At PPL, from December 4 to December 10, residential migration declined by a net of 714 accounts. This decline in residential migration had been presaged in the week-ago stats, as PPL, from November 27 to December 3, saw residential migration growth of only 36 accounts (see 12/8).

The decline in migration at both PECO and PPL was not confined to the residential class, however. Both utilities saw material declines in the number of commercial accounts on competitive supply (while industrial migration occasionally sees a decline of a handful accounts week to week, the commercial class has rarely seen any net loss in migration this year).

Specifically, during the week, PECO saw a net loss of 25 commercial accounts on competitive supply, and PPL saw a net loss of 57 commercial accounts on competitive supply.

Elsewhere, the rate of residential migration growth continued to increase at Met-Ed and Penelec. During the week, Met-Ed saw residential migration growth of over 4,300 accounts, versus the week-ago 3,600. At Penelec, weekly residential migration growth was 2,500, versus 1,900 a week ago.

West Penn Power saw weekly residential migration growth of nearly 1,200 accounts, consistent with the week-ago growth.
