The Pennsylvania PUC this morning voted to issue for comment a Tentative Order that would provide for additional data sharing between electric distribution companies (EDCs) and electric generation suppliers (EGSs).

The Tentative Order was not available as of press time (Docket M-00960890F0015).

According to a news release, the Commission voted 5-0 to receive comments on the implementation of two electronic data interexchange (EDI) control changes.

One of the proposed changes would enable EGSs to identify customers who have net metering arrangements with their EDC.

The other change would include Peak Load Contribution data and the Network Service Peak Load value in the Historical Usage and Historical Interval Usage data that is provided to the customer. EGSs believe that this data will be useful in minimizing capacity-related costs in order to benefit customers from movements in the market.

If adopted as final, the Tentative Order would provide EDCs with 12 months from the date of the Final Order to implement these changes.
