West Penn Power Reports Default Service Procurement Results

West Penn Power has reported results of its January 16 procurement of default service supplies.

For residential customers, the auction procured eight tranches (3.33% of load each) of full requirements supply for the period June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013, at a weighted average price of $38.56/MWh. All prices in this story have not been adjusted for gross receipt taxes, procurement-related administrative costs, or line losses.

For commercial and industrial customers under 100 kW, the auction procured four tranches (8% of load each) of full requirements supply for the period June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013, at a weighted average price of $38.74/MWh.

For commercial and industrial customers 100-500 kW, the auction procured four tranches (11% of load each) of full requirements supply for the period June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013, at a weighted average price of $39.78/MWh.

An April procurement remains for all classes prior to the establishment of retail rates for the period June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013.
