Hampshire Power Signs First Brokered Electricity Customers

Hampshire Power, the Massachusetts electricity supply program of the Hampshire Council of Governments, announced that it has signed its first brokered fixed priced retail electric contracts. Hampshire Power, which has offered municipalities, school districts, non-profit organizations and small businesses access to the wholesale market, recently expanded to brokering individual retail contracts. The first customers in the brokered fixed price plan are the Town of North Brookfield, Bay Path Vocational School in Charlton, Quabbin Regional School District, based in Barre and surrounding towns, and the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District. Two of the three school districts will be saving an average of nearly three cents per kilowatt-hour as compared to their old contract prices.

Kleinginna Joins Reliable Power Alternatives Corp.

Energy consultant and broker Reliable Power Alternatives Corp. has named Mark Kleinginna as vice president of managed products and new product development, where his responsibilities will range from managing the existing customer base to generating new contacts and developing new products. Kleinginna previously managed product development at Direct Energy and Strategic Energy. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of PowerBuy, a patented wholesale energy transparency tool.

PUCT Posts Spanish Version of Standard Form Prepaid Disclosure Statement

The PUCT has posted Spanish language versions of the standard form prepaid disclosure statement for residential and small commercial customers. The English versions had been adopted in November. The forms are available here
