CL&P Reports Last Resort Service Suppliers

Connecticut Light and Power reported that Hess Corporation and PPL EnergyPlus, LLC will each serve a portion of CL&P's Last Resort Service load for the period April 1 to June 30, 2012. It's the first time in several years that a single supplier was not awarded the entire LRS load.

Maine PUC Discloses Standard Offer Suppliers

The Maine PUC disclosed yesterday that NextEra Energy Power Marketing, LLC was awarded 100% of the medium non-residential Standard Offer load at Bangor Hydro-Electric for the six month period beginning March 1, 2012. The PUC disclosed that NextEra Energy Power Marketing was awarded 80% of the medium non-residential Standard Offer load at Central Maine Power for the same period, with New Brunswick Power Generation Corporation being awarded the remaining 20% of Standard Offer load in that class.

Golden Gate Power Seeking to Hire 1,000

Broker-consultant Golden Gate Power Company has targeted hiring 1,000 new representatives in 2012. Golden Gate Power Company, which focuses on brokering natural gas customers in California and which has expanded its services in include solar solutions, said that savings of 15% are available to California businesses through gas choice.
