The District of Columbia PSC opened Formal Case 1096 to review issues related to electric vehicles.

Specifically, the Commission said that it will need to decide whether, and to what extent, an EV rate schedule should be subsidized by those who do not switch to electric vehicles as well as whether, and how, the rate should be structured so as to avoid the unrestrained charging of electric vehicles during peak usage times, especially on extremely hot days when demand on the electric system is already high.
