In January, Fitchburg Gas & Electric saw nearly 3,800 non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply, versus just 15 non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply during December. Dating back to January 2006, the oldest stats that are readily available, Fitchburg Gas & Electric had not previously seen residential migration exceed a handful of accounts in any month.

In January, Massachusetts Electric (National Grid) saw the number of non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply increase by about 2,800 accounts, reversing the net loss of 70 accounts in December.

At Nstar, residential migration was essentially flat in all three service areas. At Boston Edison, non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply decreased by about 250 accounts in January (similar to the December net loss). At Commonwealth Electric, non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply increased by 300 accounts in January, versus the December loss of 4,700 non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply.
