Connecticut-Based Supplier Community Power & Utility LLC to be Sold

Community Power & Utility LLC, a retail electric supplier based in Brookfield, Conn., informed FERC that it is in the process of selling itself.

According to the latest Connecticut migration data from the utilities, from January 2012, Community Power & Utility was serving 174 customers in Connecticut, mostly residential.

Community Power & Utility informed FERC that the, "sale of Community Power and Utility LLC will be effective 31 March 2012, if not sooner."

Community Power & Utility provided the following statement to Matters:

"Community Power & Utility, LLC is engaged in due diligence with a potential private buyer of the assets of the company. During this period, CP&U will continue to provide uninterrupted, quality service to its customers.

"In the event that a sale concludes, the successor organisation will assume all responsibilities for CP&U's customers and will provide identical services.

"Further information about the potential sale will be released when appropriate."
