Voters Approve Most Illinois Opt-Out Aggregations; But Significant Number Rejected

Most opt-out municipal aggregations on the March 20 ballot in Illinois were approved by voters, however, a significant number of measures were defeated, including, most notably, measures in Joliet, Bloomington, and Normal.

A partial list of approved and rejected aggregations is below, based on unofficial data. Officials have until early April to canvass and certify the results. Close to 300 municipalities had aggregation measures on the ballot; about 130 are documented here.
