Reliant Signs Supply Agreement with City of Houston

Reliant said today that the city of Houston has signed a new electricity supply agreement for Reliant, an NRG company, to power city hall and other facilities for three years. Under the agreement, which begins in July 2013, Reliant has committed to supporting the city's Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise program (MWBE) by purchasing 15 percent of the electricity needed to power the city from a certified MWBE.

International Power Rebuffs GDF SUEZ Offer for Remaining Stake

International Power plc said today that members of Independent Committee of the Board of IPR have concluded that an indicative proposal from GDF SUEZ S.A. of 390 pence per share for the remainder of International Power that GDF SUEZ does not own, "undervalues IPR and accordingly GDFS has been notified that the Independent Committee is unable to accept the indicative proposal." GDF SUEZ said that it, "will continue to consider its different options regarding International Power, including the possibility to withdraw its proposed offer."
