ISO New England's Forward Capacity Auction for the 2015-16 delivery year resulted in a higher capacity price, though the auction still hit the price floor.

The 2015-16 capacity auction ended at the floor price of $3.43 per kW-month. Because the auction ended with excess supply, the price paid to generators will be prorated to $3.13 per kW-month.

No price separation occurred in the 2015-16 Forward Capacity Auction.

Last year's floor price was $3.21 per kW-month, resulting in a pro-ration of $2.86 per kW-month.

The ISO said that preliminary results show 30,757 MW of generating resources, 3,628 MW of demand resources, and 1,924 MW of imports cleared the 2015-16 auction, with approximately 2,853 MW of excess supply remaining.
