PUCT Publishes for Comment Changes to EECRF Applicable to REPs

See prior story for discussion of the proposed rule

PUCT Denies Customer-Sought Emergency Rulemaking on Smart Meters, Continues Review in Separate Project

The PUCT voted to deny a petition for an emergency rulemaking (40199) from customers who had sought a prohibition on the installation of advanced meters and removal of already installed meters, or, alternatively, to provide customers with the ability to decline the use of a smart meter. The Commission stressed its dismissal was based on procedural issues, rather than on the merits of the petition, noting that the 60-day window provided by a rulemaking would not provide an opportunity for a rigorous review of the issues, and that the Commission is addressing the same issues in the ongoing investigation of a smart-meter opt-out in Project No. 40190.
