Viridian Energy confirmed yesterday that it will enter two new states for competitive energy service in the coming months.

Specifically, Cami Boehme, Viridian's Senior Vice President of Marketing & Brand Communications, told Matters that Viridian will enter Delaware and the District of Columbia.

Pre-launch activities are to begin July 1.

Official launches are expected to occur in September.

Viridian is currently licensed as an electric supplier in D.C., and its Delaware application is pending approval.

Boehme said that Viridian would build off of its existing network of independent associates in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in expanding its Mid-Atlantic footprint.

In Maryland, Viridian is currently only active at Baltimore Gas & Electric and Pepco. Boehme said that Viridian is looking at expanding to additional territories within the state, but has no definitive plans at this time.
