Washington Gas Energy Services has lowered pricing for residential wind power products as part of joining the Philadelphia Green Power Community Challenge.

The Green Power Community Challenge is an effort by the federal EPA to encourage municipalities and their businesses and residents to use green power products.

WGES' discounted rates made available to PECO residential customers under the program are as follows:

• 12 Months Fixed, 50% wind @ 8.00¢/kWh

• 12 Months Fixed, 100% wind @ 8.40¢/kWh

WGES said that business customers are also eligible for special wind power offers under the program as well.

The city's Philly Green Power Challenge webpage also lists The Energy Co-op and Clean Currents as retail suppliers involved in the challenge, as well as REC suppliers Sterling Planet, EverPower, Renewable Choice Energy, and the clearinghouse website ChoosePaWind.com
