Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas have recommended approval of AEP Texas Central's and AEP Texas North's advanced metering system (AMS) reconciliation (40261).
The period covered by TCC's and TNC's application includes all costs incurred, savings achieved, and investments made through December 31, 2011 pursuant to the AMS Deployment Plan approved by the Commission in Docket No. 36928.
As of December 31, 2011, TCC and TNC have an over-recovery of $38.2 million (includes a carrying cost of $2.2 million) and $8.4 million (includes a carrying cost of $0.5 million) respectively.
The TDUs are not seeking to change the AMS surcharge applicable to retail electric providers from the levels the Commission adopted in finding of fact numbers 34 and 35 of the order in Docket 36928.
Staff is not recommending any adjustments that would trigger an update to TCC's or TNC's AMS surcharges, and recommended that the AMS surcharges remain unchanged.
