Retail Supplier Independence Electricity Changes Name

Start-up retail supplier Independence Electricity has changed its name to Union Atlantic Electricity. As first reported by Matters, an affiliate of Union Atlantic Electricity (with such affiliate also changing its name, to Union Atlantic Hydro) expects to acquire several hydroelectric generation assets in Maine, and Union Atlantic Electricity anticipates seeking retail supplier licenses in all of the open New England states. The company is not related to Independence Energy Group LLC, which is an indirect subsidiary of NRG Energy.
