Stream Energy is expanding into REC marketing on a national basis.

Stream announced the Clean Nation initiative, which will initially offer customers 100% wind RECs.

The initial product will be a monthly subscription for 1 REC (1,000 kWh) priced at $19.95.

Stream Energy also announced that it plans to expand its residential energy service into a sixth state by the end of 2012, though the state has not yet been disclosed.

Additionally, Stream Energy announced the expansion of its natural gas service to several of its existing electric markets. Matters first reported in June that Stream Energy recently applied for gas supplier licenses in Pennsylvania and Maryland, where it is an active electric supplier.

Furthermore, Stream announced that it would expand its commercial electric service to additional territories in its existing footprint, including expanding commercial service to Public Service Electric & Gas, Atlantic City Electric, and Met-Ed.
