Baltimore Gas & Electric Sees Spike in Residential Customers on Competitive Gas Supply

Baltimore Gas & Electric saw a surge in the number of residential customers taking competitive natural gas supply during the three months ended June 2012, according to the latest data from the Maryland PSC.

From March 31, 2012 to June 30, 2012, Baltimore Gas & Electric saw the number of residential gas customers on competitive supply increase by 9,100, more than double the growth of 4,200 seen from December 31, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
Some 115,000 residential customers at BGE now take competitive gas supply, or about 19% of eligible accounts.
Washington Gas Light saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 1,700 from March 31, 2012 to June 30, 2012, down from the growth of 2,900 accounts from December 31, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
Some 79,500 residential customers at WGL in Maryland now take competitive gas supply, or about 19% of eligible accounts.
