Growth Continues in Pennsylvania Natural Gas Migration

The Pennsylvania PUC has posted its June report on migration to competitive natural gas supply, and the Office of Consumer Advocate has also posted its July 1, 2012 residential migration report.

As listed on the PUC's June report, some 27,481 residential gas customers at PECO were taking competitive supply in June, which represents growth of 855 migrated residential accounts versus May. This growth is down substantially from monthly residential migration growth during May, which had been 6,800 residential accounts.
The Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate has also posted its residential gas migration report, as of July 1, 2012.
The OCA stats list PECO residential migration to competitive gas supply as 36,997 accounts as of July 1.
According to the PUC statistics, from May to June, the number of residential customers on competitive gas supply at UGI Utilities - Gas Division increased by 750 accounts, down from the May growth of 1,100.
Other notable growth in the number of residential customers on competitive supply during June, versus the May total (per the PUC reports), was seen at the following distribution companies:
Columbia Gas: +567
Equitable Gas: +371
National Fuel Gas Distribution: +66
Peoples Natural Gas: +179
UGI Central Penn Gas: +100
UGI Penn Natural Gas: +131
